820 North Michigan Avenue

UNFORTUNATELY, THE LOYOLA UNIVERSITY MUSEUM OF ART IS NOW OPEN TO THE PUBLIC VIA DOCENT LED TOURS ONLY. ADVANCE RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. CALL 312-915-7600 FOR AN APPOINTMENT.

Across the small park on the west side of the old water tower (west of Michigan Avenue), you'll find LUMA, a truly hidden gem. Housed in Lewis Towers, an historic gothic revival building constructed in 1927, the Loyola University Museum of Art is 35,000 square feet of beautiful medieval, renaissance and baroque art. As you would expect from a Jesuit Catholic university, most artwork has a religious theme. The galleries are on two levels, with a permanent collection and rotating exhibits. This is a great place to escape the crowds on Michigan Avenue! FREE.
