The Chicago Cultural Center is home to the City of Chicago's Office of Cultural Affairs and regularly has FREE concerts, special exhibits and programs in its galleries. The building itself, originally built as the city's central library, is worth the visit. Don't miss the 38-foot Tiffany stained glass dome (south side of building) with some 30,000 pieces of glass. On the north side of the building is an equally impressive 40-foot-diameter dome with some 50,000 pieces of glass in an intricate Renaissance pattern, designed by Healy & Millet.

The Chicago Cultural Center is Stop #1 on our FREE Loop / Architecture Self-Guided Walking Tour. See "Tours" section of eVisitorGuide for more information.
